AJ takes a first look at One Ashley Road

The Architects’ Journal this month features One Ashley Road, the flagship scheme designed by Alison Brooks Architects in the wider Heart of Hale masterplan for central Tottenham Hale in north London. The mixed use complex is one of five sites developed by Related Argent in the area, all engineered by Whitby Wood.
Composed of three joined concrete frame structures acting together — an 18-storey tower, a 12-storey tower and a low-rise linking podium, the urban site is constrained by various features, including London Underground Victoria Line spur tunnels. Vibration from the trains was also a key design concern for the comfort of residents, especially at night.

One Ashley Road has been nominated for a 2024 Housing Design Award and is shortlisted for the British Homes Awards 2024 in the category Regeneration Scheme of the Year.
